The Country Wanted a Minority Government-And Got It

From the moment Harper announced that Canadians would be voting, he downplayed the possibility of a majority conservative Government. He was afraid that his talk about majority government would frighten nervous and undedicated voters into the Liberal camp. Harper claimed that during the night of elections, if he would have broken through in Quebec for votes, he would have had a majority government. Although, lately the dynamics for the Conservatives have changed. Harper has to admit to himself that he is never going to lead a majority government. The voters may respect him. They may think he is the best of the current crop of leaders. But they don’t like him enough, trust him enough, or feel comfortable enough with him to give him their unconditional support. Stephan Harper had figured out that there is no place on a ballot where voters can mark ‘X’ to choose a minority government. But the voters figured it out as they usually do. They voted carefully. Some voted strategically. And some voted with their gut. In the end, they got what most of them wanted. A MINORITY GOVERNMENT.

Today the conservatives have failed, and a coalition takes over!
